Thank you for visting my blog. I am recreating the Penn Central in HO scale in Richmond, In the year 1973.
It is a double track mainline that was the old PRR Panhandle that ran from Columbus,Oh to St.Louis, Mo.
There was also the GR&I that was a branch line that ran all the way up to Fort Wayne, In. (also known as the Ft. Wayne Branch).
Under Penn Central all but two and a half miles of the branch would be abandoned. The portion that was left was used to service local industry.
PC also interchanged with the C&O at two different locations. South cars were delivered to an interchance track at Glen Tower, while the north cars were delivered to Parry siding up the FTW branch.
There was also regular Amtrak service that is also represented.
Went to Richmond a couple of days ago to photograph the old International Harvester plant. It is an upcoming project that Im getting ready to get started on. Im going to model the facility as it might have looked in 1973.
